UNION: Car crashPolice responded to an accident on April 7 at 2:30 a.m. on Davidheiser Road in Union Township. Kory Pfeiffer, 22 of Birdsboro, was traveling northbound on Davidheiser Road in Union Township. Pfeiffer was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control around a curve. His vehicle skid out of control for approximately 125 feet before crashing into a tree. Pfeiffer was wearing a seat belt and multiple airbags were deployed. Several bottles of malt liquor were located inside the vehicle. Pfeiffer was taken to Reading Hospital for treatment and a blood sample to determine his blood alcohol level. Pfeiffers BAC was over the legal limit. DUI charges have been filed.
CUMRU: Thieves steal thousands of feet of copper wire
Thieves reportedly stole hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of copper wire from the former site of Northeast Building Systems. Between March 27 and April 6, someone entered the building and stole 3,000 feet of “heavy copper wiring” from the electrical panels and other areas “throughout the building,” according to Cumru Police.To repair damage and recplace the wire, approximately $300,000 will need to be spent.
