The Twin Valley High School Lacrosse Team earned a convincing victory in against Conrad Weiser on April 6, winning handily by a final score of 15-10. The game was not as close as the score indicated, with the raiders building a big lead before a late closing flurry from the Scouts made the game appear tighter than it actually was. Senior attackman Andrew Huls started the Raiders off by scoring an unassisted opening goal early in the first quarter on a power dodge from behind the net. Just a few minutes later, senior midfielder Ryan Hoffman set up Huls for his second goal with a nice pass from the wing. Huls completed his hat trick in short order with another unassisted goal. The Scouts did close within two by the end of the quarter.

Freshman midfielder Matt Krick started a heavy Raiders onslaught in the second quarter, scoring his own goal and assisting on Huls’ fourth goal of the game. Ryan Hoffman then scored before passing to Huls for a fifth score. Hoffman next assisted on senior midfielder Robert Gaydos’ goal, the Raiders fifth of the quarter, and sent the Raiders into halftime with an 8-2 advantage. Defensemen Andrew Gribbin (sophomore), Lee Thompson (senior), Jack Trego (sophomore) and Steve Griffin (junior) lead a strong defensive effort in front of senior goalie Tim McCall.

In the third quarter it was more of the same as Matt Krick scored his second goal, sophomore midfielder Gavin Manes added another goal off an assist from Krick, Huls earned a double hat trick by scoring his sixth on a looping dodge from behind the net, and senior midfielder Justin Folk added a goal off of a steal of an outlet pass at midfield and a sprint to the net ahead of the Weiser defenders. The Scouts finally woke up, scoring the last two goals of the third quarter and the first two of the fourth, before the Raiders resumed their scoring when freshman attackman Alex Rhoads assisted on a goal by senior attackman Kyle Arthur with a pass in front. Weiser responded with another goal of their own before Hoffman scored back-to-back goals to finish with three goals and three assists.

The Raiders play became sloppy in the last few minutes, and conceded three late Conrad Weiser goals which made the final score 15-10.
