Brandywine Heights celebrated a circus-themed fashion show on April 6.
For the past 18 years Brandywine Heights High School has put on a fashion show for the art students to show off their talents in a major fashion show.
This year the students worked with a circus theme and decorated the main entrance of the school like the outside of a circus in a carnival setting. The inside of the cafeteria was setup like the inside of a circus tent.
A week before the show, Brandywine Heights art teacher Suzanne Oswald explained that the show is a part of the art 3 and 4 curriculum and that mostly juniors and seniors participated were involved with designing the costumes. Under classmendressed up in their costumes. In total, there were about 60 students who participated in the show.
Oswald explained that the students had to come up with a preliminary design like a real designer would while preparing for a fashion show.
The students who were involved worked over their spring break, the week of the show, to make the main entrance of the high school and the cafeteria feel like an actual circus.
Members of the community made kettle corn and Carmel apples for snacks that were set-up outside of the cafeteria.
To provide circus music, the Allentown Almost Hobo Marching Band made an appearance to play circus music for the crowd. Other highlights included a juggling act and performance by the BHHS choraliers.
