PA Republicans respond to loss of Manchin-Toomey amendment

Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement the U.S. Senate’s 54-46 vote on the Manchin-Toomey amendment which failed to reach the required 60-vote threshold required for passage:

“With an A rating from the National Rifle Association, Senator Toomey has always respected Pennsylvania’s strong tradition of responsible gun ownership and he is not afraid to confront President Obama head-on to stop his extreme agenda to take away our Second Amendment rights. As this conversation evolves, we support Senator Toomey’s continued leadership to protect Pennsylvanians’ rights to bear arms and keep our citizens safe.”
