The Oley Township supervisors have been informed that the county intends to repaint the Griesemerís Mill Bridge on Spangsville Road sometime in mid-May.
The letter, dated March 21, from McCormick Taylor Engineers of Philadelphia, indicated the project will last approximately three days and will require the closing of a portion of Spangsville Road from Church Road to Manatawny Road.
In other business, a letter dated March 18 from the Berks County Conservation District notified the township they will be conducting mosquito surveillance and West Nile Virus monitoring once per month in the township from April 1 through October 1.
Also at the April 8 meeting, the supervisors agreed to coordinate with the county regarding the Pleasantville Covered Bridge Fishing Rodeo and 6K run scheduled for May 18.
The run, which will take participants through Griesemerís Mill Bridge, may have to be re-routed due to the possible painting of the bridge at that time.
