Boyertown came out of hibernation recently, taking a chance to wake up in the streets and welcoming spring.
Boyertown’s Coming Out of Hibernation, an event full of family activities, was held on Saturday, April 20, on E. Philadelphia Avenue between Washington and Chestnut Streets.
Zumba demonstrations were conducted in the street as community members made their way to the various vendors. Weis Markets was also on site hosting a grocery contest and the Boyertown Area Historical Society’s Belsnickel made an appearence to greet kids.
Activities included face painting table, hair braiding by Joseph’s Hair Salon, carnival games, moon bounce, interactive activities, entertainment, refreshments, including The Sunflower Truck Stop – Mobile Cafe, the Boyertown Farmers market and so much more throughout the afternoon.
A Chili Cook-off contest was held at The Other Farm Brewing Company. Community members were invited to cast their vote in the Chili Cook-off contest and pick their favorite tree photo sponsored by the BBB Tree Committee, all located in The Other Farm Brewing Company. This year was the biggest event yet, hosting nine (9) different chili recipes to taste and compare.
East Philadelphia Avenue was closed from Chestnut Street to Washington Street on Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for this event.
