Rachel Larson, senior at Twin Valley High School, has been named April’s Intern of the Month. Rachel interns at the Berks Women in Crisis center in Reading where she has the opportunity to shadow educators and learn more about domestic violence and sexual assault. She helps to create and maintain avenues of social networks and participates in event planning meetings. Recently in the beginning of April, Rachel co-facilitated a session at The Spirit of Peace Conference: Healthy Relationships Summit held at Albright College.

Her supervisors commented that Rachel performs extremely well as she has excellent organization skills, helps with various tasks, follows instructions well and has strong motivation to complete tasks; she is pleasant to work with and is responsible. She takes initiative and is always willing to help in every aspect.

Rachel plans to attend college in the Fall where she’ll major in international and community development. She has a passion to help those living in a culture of poverty and would like to be instrumental in achieving justice, peace, and prosperity. This internship has given Rachel an invaluable opportunity to learn and has also confirmed her calling to work with non-profit organizations. Best wishes for you, Rachel, as you pursue your next chapter! Congratulations!
