Freshman first baseman Wynne McCann (Boyertown grad) was named Freedom Conference Player of the Week on Monday afternoon after blasting six home runs in four games in a 3-1 week for FDU.
McCann began the week on Thursday in a doubleheader split with New Jersey City by going a combined 5-for-7 with two home runs, two runs scored and six RBI. The Devils won Game Two against NJCU thanks to a walk-off grand slam from McCann in the bottom of the seventh inning. She concluded the week on Sunday, when she helped FDU sweep Staten Island, by going 4-for-6 with four home runs, five runs scored, and five RBI. On the week she batted .692 with six home runs, seven runs scored and 11 RBI. Her sixth and final home run of the week made her first All-Time in FDU history in single-season home runs (11).
On the season, she is hitting .352 with seven doubles, 11 home runs, 16 runs scored and 30 RBI.
