Kutztown celebrates Garden Month

May Kutztown Garden Month
Come celebrate the start of the growing season and share garden secrets with the Kutztown community.
The Companion Plant, located at 363 East Main Street, is working with local businesses to promote a month of garden-themed events in Kutztown. Kicking off the festivities during First Friday on May 3rd, the Companion Plant hosted guest speaker, Richard Mitchell of Bear Creek Organics speaking about Worm Composting at 6pm while the Kutztown Community Partnership offered fun for the whole family during their First Friday Garden Gnome scavenger hunt.
The gardening celebrations will continue ALL MONTH with different events each week, ending with a farm to table Tapas night at Blair Vineyard.

The Kutztown Community Partnership is a 501c3 volunteer organization dedicated to strengthening and celebrating downtown Kutztown.
The Independent Space is a venue for events, music, and workshops that celebrates the local community and local food.
The Rodale Institute has a 333-acre farm just outside of Kutztown. They offer guided tours, workshops, and classes that promote healthy living through organic practices.
Blair Vineyard is a family owned and operated winery on Dietrich Valley Road in the rolling hills of the Kutztown countryside.
Longswamp Township Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) is group of volunteers that advise local planning, land use, conservation and other environmental issues.
The Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center of Kutztown University preserves and promotes the Pennsylvania German Culture.
