Light the Way

Light The Way Ministries hosted a Community Hymn Sing, on Sunday April 14, 2013 at The Lutheran Home in Topton. Opening Worship music was performed by Joyce and Ed Sturtevant and Gospel music and Hymns were sung by Dale “Country Hank” Roth, his wife Sharon and Dale’s daughter, Tammy Lynn. About 100 people from both the community and The Lutheran Home attended. Salvation was offered as well. It was a wonderful uplifting afternoon, many people enjoyed singing along.

“STOP-N-GO” FOR KU FINALS WEEK! St. John’s UCC will again sponsor “Stop and Go” on May 13 from 7:30 to 11 a.m. on the first day of final exams, offer snacks, coffee, and free exam answer sheets to students on their way to finals. Make a difference to some very appreciative students by making the coffee, preparing some cookies or brownies, or greeting them as they stop by.Call the church office at 610-683-8531.

RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM ~ St. John’s Spirit for Hope participates in Kutztown Relay for Life at Kutztown University May 31 at 3p.m. to June 1 at 3p.m. Join Captain Missa Bubbenmoyer and the team online, invite friends and family to donate, luminaries are available for fee to honor someone or in memory of some one who has battled cancer. Small donations and big donations all add up to “One more Birthday” for someone special. If you are a survivor - please register on line and come to the survivor’s tent for your free purple shirt and a pin. Survivor lap is 7p.m. on Friday May 31. Maidencreek Church, 261 Main St., Blandon, will hold an AYCE Breakfast Saturday May 11 from 7 to 11 a.m. The Miller Keystone Blood Mobile accepting blood donations from 8 a.m. to noon.

Maidencreek Churchwill celebrate Music Sunday May 12. Music will include organ and piano duets, clarinet solo, duets, octet, choir chimes, children’s choir and adult choir.
