Mr. and Mrs. Richard G. Kershner of Hamburg celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary today. They were married June 6, 1953 in Zion’s Lutheran Church, Perry Township, by the late Rev. Samuel K. Kistler.

Kershner, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kershner, is retired after 30 years at former Mid-Atlantic Canners in Hamburg. His wife, Ruth M. Kershner, is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Morris R. Heckman. She is the owner and operates Ruth’s Dress Shop in Hamburg for the past 23 years.

They have five children, Lynn and wife Lasalette of Little Silver, NJ; Glenn and wife Deanna of Tilden Twp.; JoAnn and husband Daniel DeLong of Tilden Twp.; Gerald and wife Leslie of Hamburg; and Lori and husband Edward Keighron of Rumson, NJ. There are nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Ruth and Richard were given a surprise party by their children at C.J. Hummels in Lenhartsville on May 4.
