NWS issues Flash Flood Warning for our area

MOUNT HOLLY, NJ, MON JUN 10 2013 - At approximately 6:10 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for Southeastern Berks County, West Central Montgomery County, and Chester County until 10 a.m.; as well as a flood advisory for Northwestern Bucks County in Southeast Pennsylvania, Lehigh County in Eastern Pennsylvania, Montgomery County in Southeast Pennsylvania, Northampton County in Eastern Pennsylvania and Eastern Chester County in Southeast Pennsylvania, until 9:45 a.m.
FLASH FLLOD: There will be very heavy rain over parts of Chester, southeastern Berks and west central Montgomery Counties. Radar indicated that some locations were approaching two inches of rainfall. Locations in the warning include but are not limited to Coatesville, Downingtown, Morgantown and Pottstown.
Additional rainfall amounts of an inch to an inch and a half are possible in the warned area.
Precautionary/preparedness actions: A flash flood warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warning area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. Never attempt to cross swiftly flowing waters or waters of unknown depth by foot or in an automobile. Turn around don`t drown!
FLOOD ADVISORY: At 550 a.m. the National Weather Service Doppler Radar continued to indicate moderate to heavy rainfall moving into Southeastern Pennsylvania from the southwest. Radar indicated that rainfall amounts of a half inch to an inch and a half are possible in a short amount of time early this morning. There is the potential for minor flooding along small streams and creeks, along with ponding of water on roadways and in areas of poor drainage.
Precautionary/preparedness actions: do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground.
