Hamburg High School Class of 1943 celebrated thier 70th year since graduation in Hamburg High School on May 17 at Blue Mountain Family Restaurant in Shartlesville.
We had 68 class members at graduation that year of which 25 are still living, but only seven classmates attended.
Due to our average age of 87 or 88, we decided that this was our final class reunion. Many live a long distance away, a lot have health problems and there are many who would like to come, but can no longer do so for numerous reasons.
At the final reunion it was moved and aproved that the secretary’s book of minutes should be donated to the Hamburg Historical Society where anyone could obtain access to records.
World War II was at its peak a few class members were drafted to the war effora dn many enlisted and could not atten commencement.
