Mertztown teen, Matt Bailey, will be one of two graduation speakers for the The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts 2013 Graduation ceremony, taking place at 7p.m. on June 17 at Packer Memorial Chapel, located on the campus of Lehigh University. Bailey is one of two speakers this year; the other speaker is Tristan J. Shuler from Easton.
“Matt is an extraordinary student and he has made an incredible impact on everyone here at The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts,” says Mary Ann Kurcz, LV Charter High School for the Arts Vice Principal.
Bailey has attended The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts as a Theatre Major and is looking forward to graduation and looking forward to attending Pace University this fall to major in Acting. Bailey is a member of the The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Chapter of The International Thespian Society. He is also a successful magician and ventriloquist. He has been performing for the past four years with his show, Magiquist- the perfect blend of magic and ventriloquism. Bailey says, “My graduation speech will focus on how this class is and always will be connected on a deeper level because we are all artists.”
Bailey, 18, is the son of Laurie and Steven Bailey of Mertztown.
The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts is an audition based, free, public charter high school where students can choose to major in theater, dance, vocal music, instrumental music, visual art or figure skating.
