Head Coach Brad Biehl likes the team he has this year. The Hamburg American Legion Reds are off to a 3-2 start in the Berks-Schuylkill League.

Schuylkill Valley

Schuylkill Valley got the week off to a strange start with a forfeit win over Kutztown on June 8.

Tulpehocken

The Thunder traveled to Southern Area on June 9, but came home with a 8-6 loss. Down 4-2 after two innings, the Thunder came back with three runs in the third and one in the fourth to take a 6-4 lead. But Southern Area plated two runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to scored all the runs they would need.

The Thunder traveled to Fleetwood for a Schuylkill/Berks League game on June 11. Fleetwood pulled out a 3-2 victory over Tulpehocken with a run scoring in the bottom of the seventh.

Aaron Schneck was the losing pitcher although he allowed just three hits in the complete game effort.

Hamburg Reds

The Hamburg Reds started the week off with a 6-1 victory over Minersville on June 10 in Schuylkill/Berks League action. With the game tied at 1-1, the Reds scored two in the fourth, one in the fifth and two more in the sixth to opened a lead they never gave up.

Austin Bashore homered for Hamburg which was just one of 13 Hamburg hits in the game. Joey Cominsky was the winning pitcher.

On June 11, the Reds traveled to Brandywine Heights to take on Oley/Topton. It was a see saw battle but in the end, Hamburg won the game in extra innings, 6-4.

With the game tied at 4-4, the Reds scored two runs in the top of the eighth to win the game. Cominsky drove in a pair of runs with a double and Bashore was the winning pitcher.

The following night the Reds hit the road to take on Wyomissing. Wyomissing fell behind early but came back to win the game, 11-5.
