Shoppers will have an opportunity this summer to come face to face with the folks who locally grow or hand-make foods in the area. The third season of the Hamburg Farmers Market is already underway and will continue every Saturday through October 12 from 9a.m.-1p.m.
The open air market is located at the front of the 4th and Pine municipal parking lot, with customer parking available in the back of the lot. Conveniently located in the downtown, shoppers will be right in the heart of Hamburg’s local shopping district, and can discover one of several new stores that have opened in the past year as well as old favorites.
Grower’s attending this year’s market will be offering in season fruits and vegetables as well as baked goods, jams, jellies, and eggs. The Saturday market will be held each week, rain or shine.
“Since this is the third year for the market, I’m beginning to get to know some of the people and their farms,” Brian Warfel, Hamburg borough resident said. “I always like to meet the folks who are growing my food.”
Returning market vendors include OH Produce and Grateful Acres. New vendors joining the market as their foods are available include Sunny Acre Farm, Terry Hall, Riegels Produce, and Forest Acres.
The market is sponsored by Our Town Foundation, Hamburg’s non-profit community revitalization corporation. OTF’s goal is to foster business revitalization and improve community life within the borough of Hamburg. For more information, call 610-562-3106.
