The renowned swing band, Swing Fever, appears on stage at the Kutztown Park Bandshell from 7 to 9 p.m. on June 22.
Swing Fever is a locally organized swing band that has kept the big band sounds alive since 1983, as they continue to entertain audiences in the tradition of the ‘big band’ era. The band continues to entertain all along the east coast at various functions, including the main band at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum’s WWII Commemorative Weekend in Reading, at the Sunnybrook Ballroom, and throughout community activities and functions across southeastern Pennsylvania.
Swing Fever has been performing for several years as part of Borough of Kutztown’s 2013 Concert Series in the Parkand always packs the bandshell with their repertoire synonymous featuring tunes from the war years of the 1940s, when the sounds of Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and many more artists al became household names as they hit the airwaves for soldiers over seas. Swing Fever will entertain with top-notch musicians, and wonderful vocals by Ken Haas and Darel Atkinson as they perform a variety of tunes spanning five decades, from the classics of the 20s, 30s and 40s, including some more contemporary tunes. You will be entertained from Glenn Miller’s ‘In the Mood’ to Artie Shaw’s ‘Back Bay Shuffle’ and many more.
Come join Swing Fever on Saturday in the historic Kutztown Park Bandshell in our Concert Series, as they entertain the crowd.
The concert is free to the public and is part of the Borough of Kutztown 2013 Concert Series in the Park, and will be held rain or shine in the covered Kutztown Park Bandshell.
