Honey Brook Twp, PA—The final concert for Tel Hai’s 2012-2013 season will be held on Friday, June 28 at 7:30pm in the Auditorium/Chapel on the community’s campus located off Beaver Dam Road, east of Route 10. The group introduces themselves with a riddle: What has five horns, loves to play all kinds of music and provides incomparable experiences to audiences of all ages? That would be QuintEssentially Brass.
Founded in 2009, the Lancaster-based ensemble is devoted to surprising and delighting their audience by presenting the best in the brass quintet repertoire. Spanning five generations, the musicians believe that making great music takes hard work—but must always be fun for them and a delight for their audience. Their catalogue include baroque to jazz…sacred to secular.
On trumpet are Douglas L. Albert and Gene Clark. Mr. Albert is music department chair at Lampeter-Strasburg School district. A graduate of Millersville University he also holds a Masters in Trumpet Performance from Duquesne University. Mr. Clark is a Lancaster native and graduate of Franklin & Marshall College. Music has been his hobby of choice and the trumpet his instrument since the 4th grade.
Dr. Kristen A. Albert, French Horn, recently retired as professor of Music Education at West Chester University. She earned her degrees at Millersville University (BS), Shippensburg University (Master’s) and her doctoral degree at the University of Delaware.
On trombone is Andy Walls who teaches guitar and music technology at Eastern York High School. He holds a BS in Music Education from Duquesne University , a Masters in Trombone Performance from University of Cincinnati College and an Artist Diploma in Trombone Performance from the Royal Conseratoire of Scotland.
Lifelong resident of Lancaster, Geoff Davis contributes the tuba completing the ensemble. He currently plays with the Lancaster British Brass Band and had performed with many other local and regional groups during his more than 50 years as a musician.
