The Borough of Kutztown’s 2013 Concert Series in the Park continues July 6 with the introduction of a high energy show band hailing from Northeastern Pennsylvania.
The 60s Boys performs at Kutztown Park from 7 to 9:15 p.m.
A Mudflaps production, The 60s Boys was formed in 2011 and brings to the stage a 10-member oldies show band comprised of six former members of The Mudflaps dating back to the 80s. The full sounding oldies band complete with horn section, saxophone, guitars, drums, and lead vocalist will deliver a high quality vocal and instrumental show. The 60s Boys entertain audiences recreating the hits made famous by the likes of The Blues Brothers, Frankie Vali and the Four Seasons, The Beach Boys, Roy Orbison, The Richteous Brothers, The Platters, Elvis Pressley, Jay Black and the Americans, to name a few, including the sounds of the “Grease” soundtrack and many more household tunes.
The band has become very popular as they bring their style and entertainment reminiscent of the great bands as they dance and sing to some of the most popular and memorable hits and classics. If you recall the great sounds of the 50s, 60s and 70s, you grew up in that era, like that style music, or just need an entertaining night out, this is a must see concert.
When the Twist was popular, everyone listened to Dick Clark and American Bandstand, bobby socks and poodle skirts were the rave, flat tops, muscle cars and “greasers” were all the fad back then when basketball games, high school dances, and meeting at the Drive-In was the thing to do on a Saturday night. Come join us at the Kutztown Park Bandshell July 6 for a trip back in time. Come early, get good seats and bring the family and get ready for a great time, and great music, as The 60s Boys take you on a journey back in time down memory lane.
The concert is free to the public and is part of the Borough of Kutztown 2013 Concert Series in the Park and will be held rain or shine in the covered Kutztown Park Bandshell.
