Sandie Sill, co-author of “I’m Grrreat!” was on hand at the Exeter Community Library to sign copies of her book June 27 from 6-8 p.m.
Sill finished the book after her husband, Ed, passed away in 2006 before he could finish writing the book about his experiences with polio.
Despite only selling about a dozen copies, several people who had bought the book previously, came by to have Sill sign it. Several members of her family, including her daughter and son-in-law Denise and Andrew Heifer, her granddaughter and her husband, and her great-granddaughter, joined Sill for the signing.
In addition to the family members, Sill had several friends come out and support her. Two of her friends, Nancy Healey and Dawn Bentley, their husbands worked with Sill’s late husband and now Bentley and Sill are neighbors.
“It’s a wonderful tribute,” Bentley said of “I’m Grrreat!”
While the turnout was not what Sill had hoped for, the rainy weather Thursday evening might have had an effect on who could make it to the library.
“It was much better than I thought because of the weather,” Sill said.
Sill kicked around the idea of hosting another book signing, hopefully with better weather.
“I’m hoping to do it again,” Sill said.
