Hamburg resident battling wildfire in Alaska

Submitted photo Chris Sturm is currently helping battle the Stuart Creek 2 Wildfire located 25 miles east of North Pole, Alaska. The fire started June 19 and has grown to over 64,570 acres. Sturm is a volunteer with the Hamburg Forest Fire Crew and has been with the crew since 1987. He has traveled all over the country to help battle wildfires for 22 years. This is the first time crews from Pennsylvania have been assigned to Alaska.
