A new area eatery is bringing the whole package in Italian dining to the Tri County area.
Petrangeli’s Pizza Restaurant opened its doors for business on Monday, July 8. Elverson’s newest food establishment features an attractive dining room for customers who want to eat in, as well as food pickup for those who opt instead for something takeout. There is also pizza delivery for residents within three to four miles of the restaurant.
Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 11-9, Friday and Saturday 11-10 and Sunday 11-5. Located at 109 Darby Square, in Elverson, they are situated beside Doug’s Pharmacy in the former V&S Sandwiches space.
In an interview with The Tri County Record, owner/manager Stefanie Yost indicated her desire to both develop a strong area-wide catering business while also providing quality sit-down dining room facilities. In addition to pizza, Yost said, “we have hoagies, gourmet sandwiches, wings and homemade pasta dinners.”
Additionally, Petrangeli’s offers weekend dinner specials, large plain pizza specials on Mondays and Tuesdays until Labor Day and Bottomless Spaghetti and Meatballs on Tuesdays.
Yost is not new to the restaurant business.
“It’s what I did…from teenage years to my late 20s,” she said. Since then, she has busied herself with earning a teaching degree and raising her three children.
“This is something I wanted to do,” she said, stressing “This is it.”
She continued, “I live in Morgantown. Both of my parents are Italian immigrants, and I grew up eating all kinds that aren’t available here. I’m hoping to bring the good quality Italian meats and cheeses.”
Recently the restaurant had a Saturday “friends and family” private opening. Yost said she served more dinners and sandwiches than pizza at that gathering, which surprised her.
“I expect pizza to be a pretty big chunk of our day. We’ll have to see,” she said. It is a big operation.
“I was in the back cooking the whole time—I do not want to be there—I want to be out front,” she said. “I tell you, I can’t get up early enough! I got here at 5:30 .”
On another note, she spoke about a topic near to her heart.
“I’m a huge proponent of service. I won’t go to a place if they’re rude to me or if everybody is buried in their phones…I’m done. That’s like my number one rule with these guys unless it’s an emergency.”
In addition to the aforementioned, the restaurant features items such as calamari, an assortment of salads, sandwiches and authentic Italian specialties. Call the restaurant to order at 610-286-0099.
