To the editor:
I want to thank the over 110 citizens of West Nantmeal Township who signed our petition against the exemption of gunfire related noise (hunting excluded) from the West Nantmeal Township Noise Ordinance (Ordinance No. 97). I would also like to thank the many citizens who wrote letters, and showed up for the June and July Board of Supervisors Meetings. Your voices were heard and this made a difference.
I want to thank the West Nantmeal Township Supervisors, who after considering excluding gunfire from the noise ordinance, heard the peoples voices and are instead planning to make more effective and reasonable changes to the ordinance that consider all of the townships citizens, not just the gun enthusiasts.
Lastly, I would like to thank my neighbor, Mr. Fantanarosa for sitting down with me and working out a reasonable solution to the noise issue in our neighborhood that was brought to the townships attention by myself and 16 of my neighbors. We appreciate Mr. Fantanarosa’s willingness to come to an agreement that protects his right to shoot, as well as the neighbor’s rights to reasonable peace and quiet in the neighborhood.
My faith in our local political system has been restored.
