This week’s BIG SHOT comes to us from Lori Simpson, of Morgantown. Lori and her family spent July 6 - 13 at the 50th annual Sparr family reunion in Ocean City, Md. The reunion tradition was started by Lori’s grandmother, Mabel Sparr, who lived on Weaver Road in Morgantown and was very active in the community. This year was special because July 6 marked what would have been Mabel’s 100th birthday. All 70 family members who attended wore green shirts with Mabel’s face on them at the beach one day to honor her. She died in 2005, but the family has kept the tradition going strong.
