BCTC Students Compete at SkillsUSA National Competition; Earn Gold & Silver Medals

After first qualifying at the district and state level skill and leadership competitions, six BCTC West Campus students that were state gold medalists earned the opportunity to compete at the 49th annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference held in Kansas City, Missouri from June 24 -29, 2013. The National Conference brings together over 6,000 students from across the country who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

Students from the Automotive Technology, Communication Media Technology, Graphic Imaging Technology, HVAC, and Welding programs had an opportunity to represent the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and showcase their talents in the SkillsUSA National Competitive Events program. The students earned 1 gold medal, 4 silver medals, and a 12th place finish in an extremely competitive field of students from across the United States.
