Teen, 17, ejected after car strikes trees in Richmond Township

A 17-year-old teen was taken to Reading Medical Center Trauma Unit after she was ejected from her car in an Aug. 17 accident.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle after impact, she was wearing her seatbelt. Airbags were deployed.

Fleetwood Ambulance transported her to Reading Medical Center.

Fleetwood Borough Police report that the accident occurred at 11:40 p.m. on Maidencreek Road approximately 75 feet east of Moll Road in Richmond Township.

The driver was traveling westbound at an apparent high rate of speed when she lost control while attempting to maneuver around a turn, according to the police report. The car spun counterclockwise, traveled across the eastbound lane and left the roadway. The car’s right side proceeded to strike several trees, on the south side of the roadway, which caused the car to spin counterclockwise again and enter the roadway again, coming to a final stop facing southeast in the eastbound lane.

Fleetwood Fire Co., Walnuttown Fire Co., Virginville Fire Co. and Richmond Township Fire Co. assisted at the scene.

Investigation continues.
