Adam Stevens became the 83rd Eagle Scout of Kutztown Troop 101 on May 7, and his Court of Honor was held on Sunday, Aug. 11 at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Kutztown.
Adamís project was the replacement of eight windows in an auxiliary building owned by St. Johnís Lutheran Church, Troop 101ís chartered partner. The original windows, which were recycled, were more than 50 years old. They were replaced with energy efficient windows.
Holding two fundraisers, enough money was raised to pay for the windows and give the excess funds totaling $1,080 to the church.
Adamís scouting journey includes earning 25 merit badges, doing an 87 mile trek at Philmont, NM, 50 mile hike along the Appalachian Trail, 50 mile Seabase Kayak trip, and a 30 mile hike along the Little Grand Canyon in Pennsylvania. He also held the leadership positions Senior Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader. He received certificates of special recognition from numerous political leaders and organizations. His future plans include college and a career in the military.
