A Boyertown woman was taken to the hospital after a collision on Route 662 Thursday at noon.

Township police said Andrew West, 20, of Audubon, was driving his silver Jeep liberty northbound on Route 662 near Pine Forge Road when he lost control, crossed the center line and struck a blue Chevrolet cobalt driven by Diane Grey, 54, of Boyertown.

According to police, Grey needed assistance from emergency responders to get out of her car and was taken to Reading Hospital.

Both cars suffered damage to the front driver’s side and debris was scattered around the road for about 40 yards.

Route 662 was closed between Pine Forge Road and Weavertown Road until 1:15 p.m. while police investigated the crash and the scene was cleared.

The Amity and Monarch fire companies responded to the crash along with Exeter and Southern Berks emergency services.
