The 67th annual Oley Valley Community Fair will be held at the Oley Fire Company Fairgrounds, Routes 73 and 662 in Oley, PA on September 19 through 21. Fair hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Leave your diet at home. The fair is famous for its French fires, hamburgers and Pennsylvania Dutch foods. Seventeen area churches and congregations prepare and serve the home-styled food.

Goodtime Amusements will offer a variety of amusement rides for all. There will be a nice selection of kiddie rides, too. There will be a ride special to ride the rides between 1 and 5 p.m. for $18 per person on Thursday; and between 11 and 3 p.m. for $18 per person on Friday.

Entertainment will be held rain or shine under the Bandstand Pavilion. Bring your lawn chairs.

Scheduled entertainment on Thursday two shows 7 and 9 p.m. of ‘Rick K and the Allnighters’. Friday from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Marian & Friends Ventriloquist; at 1 p.m. Oley Valley High School Marching Band; 5-5:30 p.m. WFMZ’s Ed Hanna broadcasting live (weather permitting) and two shows 7 and 9 p.m. of ‘The Uptown Band.’ Saturday from noon-2 p.m. ‘Ringgold Band’; 2-5 p.m. Happy Dutchmen Strolling Band; 5:30-6:30 p.m. ‘Exeter Community Band’ and two shows 7 and 9 p.m. ‘The Stickers.’

On Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. will be a Child ID program by Berks County Sheriff’s Department, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. PA State Fair Queen and PA Honey Queen.

Thursday and Friday at 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30 a.m. will be Story Time, presented by Oley Community Library.

Wednesday at 9 a.m. will be judging of the exhibits and Thursday at 8 a.m. judging of livestock. The presentation of Commercial Exhibit Awards will be on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

The fair offers several contests. On Thursday at 4:30 p.m. is the Children’s Pedal Tractor Pulling Contest. Friday at 9 a.m. is the Sheep Judging and Dairy Management Contest, 10 a.m. Lamb Trimming and Blocking Contest and Tractor Pull Contest; at 2 p.m. Youth Pedal Tractor Pulling Contest and at 4:30 p.m. Big Wheel Contest. Saturday at 10 a.m. is the Garden Tractor & ATV Pull Contest, and Adult Pedal Tractor Pulling Contest; 12 noon Youth Bale Throwing Contest, 2 p.m. Adult Bale Throwing Contest and 4 p.m. Donut Eating Contest. Oley Valley Community Fair prides itself in being a truly old-fashioned fair. Bring the whole family-come early and stay late for there is plenty to see and do at the fair. Admission to the fair is free, and there is a parking fee of $5. The fair offers free shuttle bus service from Frieden’s Lutheran Church on Route 73.
