Lantern Tours at Historic Crystal Cave. 7:30 p.m. at 963 Crystal Cave Road, Kutztown. A recreation of the original Crystal Cave tour from the 1870s guided by hand-held lantern light. There is a fee. Not suitable for children under the age of 8. Reservations required. 610-683-6765.
THE GREATER READING ENCORE CHORALE. Singers over age 55 invited to join. Meets Thursdays 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 30 Liberty St., Shillington. No auditions. If you are Uninsured or Underinsured the Department of Health can help you receive all of your vaccinations. You are eligible for vaccines at LOW or NO COST if you are: Underinsured (your insurance does not cover the vaccine) or Uninsured (no insurance). PINNACLE JAM MUSIC FESTIVAL. Sept. 13 and 14 at Kempton Music Center, 83 Community Drive, Kempton. This two day event is a fundraiser for The Rex Foundation, which aims to help secure a healthy environment, promote individuality in the arts, provide support to critical and necessary social services, assist others less fortunate than ourselves, protect the rights of indigenous people and ensure their cultural survival, build a stronger community, and educate children and adults everywhere. Fleetwood Area Historical Society meets 7 p.m., in their museum at the Fleetwood Community Center. The speaker will be Darius Puff who will speak about Native Americans of our region.

Endurance + Persistence = Survivorship. 7 p.m. at the St. Joseph Cancer Center/Bern Campus – Franciscan Room. Many more people are surviving a cancer diagnosis than ever before. Wine Tasting 101 - White Wines. 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Brandywine Community Library. Learn the proper way to taste wine and have the opportunity to sample a variety of wines. Blair Vineyards, Kutztown will be providing instructional expertise and wines. Oct. 4 from 6 to 7:30pm Blair Vineyars will be featuring red wines. There is a cost. Includes 4-5 tastings and light appetizers. Please pay at the library to hold your reservation, space is very limited. Winetasting 101 will be held on the library porch, in the case of unpleasant weather we will be indoors, in the stacks. Must be 21 or older to attend the program.

READ TO A THERAPY DOG. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Brandywine Community Library. Great program for new or reluctant readers. Meet therapy dogs and hang out with them at the library. Children can sign up to read to a registered therapy dog for 15 minutes. If the hour is not fully reserved children may extend their visit and/or walkins will be welcome.

ANNUAL 1770 TANNENBERG ORGAN CONCERT at 3 p.m. at Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, 340 Moselem Church Rd. Richmond Twp. Dr. Sarah Davies, musicologist and organist, will be our guest musician. Free will offering to benefit the 1770 organ preservation and the Arts program at Zion Moselem Lutheran.

Galen Hall Golf Course – South Mountain YMCA Camps Fund Raiser. All proceeds go to send kids to summer camp who do not have the means to attend. The golf tournament is a scramble format in its 16th year with lots of contests and sponsored holes like hole-in-one for a car, longest drives and closest to the pins. SVAROOPA YOGA. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Henry Auditorium across the parking lot from Brandywine Community Library. Introductory level taught by Ellen Rosenkrantz, who has been teaching Yoga for 13 years. Bring a yoga mat if have one, if not a mat will be provided. Also bring an extra towel to roll up for support during our yoga postures. Please wear comfortable clothing. There is a charge. Prostate Cancer Screening. 5 to 7 p.m. at the St. Joseph Cancer Center Medical Office Building, 2494 Bernville Road, Reading. Register by calling call the Oncology Outreach Office at 610-378-2602. Screening is available for:
• Men who have not been seen by a urologist in the past 6 months AND
• Men who are 55 years of age or older OR
• African American men, or men who have a first-degree relative, such as a father or brother, who had prostate cancer at a young age (before age 55) could begin screening at age 45 OR
• Men at even higher risk of prostate cancer because of more than one first-degree relative diagnosed with prostate cancer at a younger age could begin screening at age 40.
The screening will include a FREE Digital rectal exam and evaluation by urologists on staff at St. Joseph Medical Center. If the PSA (prostate specific antigen) blood test is recommended in your case, the blood test will also be FREE.

MAMMA’S 30th ANNIVERSARY FALL FEST. 2 to 6 p.m. on Whiteoak next to Mamma’s Delight Pizza Restaurant, 300 W. Main St., Kutztown. Celebrating Mamma’s 30th anniversary. Includes moonbounce, music by KU Radio. Ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. Moonbounce, face painting, children’s games, spin the wheel for prizes, free small samples of food, 30-year anniversary gift for anyone coming, tables with chairs for people to sit, balloons for kids, and KURadio will provide live music and broadcast.
