Hamburg Police respond to and detain suspicious person in downtown Hamburg

Hamburg Borough Police Department was dispatched to the area of Wells Fargo Bank, 26 S. Fourth St., in Hamburg, on Sept. 17 at 1:20 p.m. They were dispatched due to a suspicious person walking around the outside of the bank wearing a bandana around his face covering his nose and mouth. The bank went into a lock down mode.
The actor then went into the Gold Buy and Sell establishment located across the street. He was accompanied by another male.
A witness described an actor to be in the store with his arms out and, to the witness, he appeared he was holding a gun.
Hamburg Police Department responded to the scene. Within three minutes the two actors were detained.
No gun was found on the actors. However, one of the actors was in possession of a prohibited weapon. The weapon was an eight inch switch blade. The actor is a 17-year-old male from Tilden Twp. the juvenile actor was taken into custody and may face charges for possession of a prohibited offensive weapon.
The second male was released with no charges.
Troopers from PSP Hamburg Barracks and Tilden Township Police Department assisted.
