Mama’s Delight Pizza Restaurant’s owners are hosting a fall celebration for their 30th Anniversary in Kutztown.
Maria is coordinating a community celebration on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 2 to 6 p.m. to celebrate the pizza shop’s anniversary and thank the community for their support.
“This is for the community, for the Kutztown University students, anybody who would like to come and celebrate 30 years with us,” said Maria DiMaggio.
Held rain or shine, the festival opens with a 2 p.m. ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Sandy Green and members of the Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce. There will be a moonbounce, face painting, children’s games, spin the wheel for prizes, free small samples of food, 30-year anniversary gift for anyone coming, tables with chairs for people to sit, balloons for kids, and KURadio will provide live music and broadcast. The road on Main and South Whiteoak will be closed to accommodate the event.
“We thank the community and the Kutztown University for all those years of support and patronage,” said Maria.
Serving Kutztown since 1983, Mamma’s Delight staff believe their pizza creations are a work of art, using fresh dough and sauces are made daily, capturing the true Italian taste. Mamma’s also serves chicken wings, sandwiches on homemade bread, salads, lasagna, calzones and stromboli.
Natives of Italy, owners Vince and Maria DiMaggio arrived in Kutztown and raised a family while running Mamma’s for 30 years. Involved in the community, Maria can often be seen at local events, such as Muscle on Main in the summer and tree lightings at Christmas time.
“It’s been great (being in business for 30 years),” said Maria. “We came from Italy, we raise our family, we got to know a lot of people and got to make great food and we’re just thankful for this opportunity. And to be in this town for 30 years, that’s a milestone.”
Mamma’s invites the community to celebrate their 30th anniversary on Sept. 29 from 2 to 6 p.m.
