On Sunday, Oct. 6, starting at 2PM at the Center at Spring Street, folks from all over the Boyertown area will gather to participate in this year’s CROP Walk to fight world hunger.

Many of us have heard of the horrible fighting going on in Syria, fighting that has included the use of chemical warfare. Our elected leaders have been struggling over what, if anything, we can do about it. Many people feel that there isn’t anything we as a nation can realistically do to change the enormous amount of suffering taking place in Syria. How can we make a positive difference in the lives of the many innocent people who are suffering in that conflict?

Maybe we can’t. But I think there is a way to make a positive difference in the lives of people around the world who, day in and day out, fight a silent war to survive in the face of hunger and poverty. The CROP Walk provides an excellent opportunity to do just that. We all want to feel like we’re doing something that matters to other people, that we’re making a positive difference in the lives of others, especially those in need. If you’re one of those who feels that way, why not take part in an event that does an enormous amount of good for others by bringing many people together? If you still wish to participate in the CROP Walk, please contact me at (610) 369-1281 or you can email me at trinitybech@windstream.net. Even if you can’t participate in the walk, consider sponsoring someone who is.
