I’m always looking for better recipes than what I currently have, including Chocolate Chip Cookies. This is my ultimate best yet! These bake up high and soft. The magic ingredient is CORN STARCH! Be sure to chill the dough and drop your chilled dough in big balls on your cookie sheet. I promise you’ll love these as much as my own family does!
Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies
¾ Cup butter, softened
¾ Cup brown sugar
¼ Cup sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 Cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. baking soda
Chocolate chips, as many as you like
Cream together butter, brown sugar and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla and beat to combine. Combine flour, cornstarch, baking soda and add to wet ingredients. Mix to combine and stir in the chocolate chips.
Chill dough for at least 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use a small cookie scoop and drop dough onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until barely golden around the edges. The key is to NOT over bake!
If you want crisp cookies, omit the cornstarch and replace the baking soda with baking powder.
