After the Fire: A True Story of Heroes & Cowards, directed by Guido Verweyen, will be shown at Albright College on Monday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m., in Memorial Chapel.
Inspired by the Pulitzer Prize winning and New York Times bestselling book, After the Fire chronicles the courageous journey of Shawn Simons and Alvaro Llanos, 18-year-old survivors of the January 2000 fire at Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J., that killed three students and injured 58 others. The 50-minute documentary will be followed by a 30-minute question-and-answer session with Simons, Llanos and Verweyen.
The documentary screening is free and open to the public.
This event is co-sponsored by Albright’s public safety department, the Gable Health Center, the psychology department, the Criminal Justice Society, Student Government Association, student activities, residential life, multicultural affairs and student affairs.
