Dancing Tree Creations Artisans Gallery and Studio names Eric Moore in Budding Artist Program for young local artists

Monday, September 23, 2013

Dancing Tree Creations Artisans Gallery and Studio will kick-off American Craft Week and celebrate their 3rd Anniversary by inviting the public to meet their next featured Budding Artist Eric Moore by joining them, along with many other local artists, for light refreshments on Friday, October 4, 2013, from 5pm to 7pm. The Budding Artist Program provides young artists, age 16 and under, an opportunity to join over 150 local and national artisans in exhibiting and selling their crafts for a three-month period of time, free of charge.
Moore, a sophomore at Boyertown Area Senior High School, is the Gallery’s fifth Budding Artist and his work will be available from October, 2013, through December, 2013. As the American Craft Week celebration continues, Moore will be joined by the first four Budding Artists hosted at Dancing Tree Creations Artisans Gallery and Studio; Gillian Moser, Devon Stackonis, Sabrina Kennedy, and Kira Foss, along with other young artists from the area for an Outside Art Show – Budding Artists on Sunday, October 6, 2013, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, weather permitting. Sunday, October 13, 2013, will be the rain date.
For as long as Moore can remember, he has been drawing. He would miss recess because he would rather work on his art than go outside. Today, he uses art to escape reality. Anytime he is having a bad day, or trying to cope with a rough situation, he will turn to art, using it to cope with any stress or pain he may experience. He will get so focused on an art project that a few hours will pass by in what often feels like only thirty minutes.
Throughout the years, Moore has acquired a skill for charcoal/pencil drawings and portraits. His work has been published twice in the Voices section of the Reading Eagle, has graced the cover of his church’s year book; and he was interviewed for the In Your Face section of the Reading Eagle. Currently, he is working to enhance his skills of landscape and building sketches. He hopes becoming well-rounded with all his artistic skills will increase his chances of getting college scholarships for illustration and eventually of get a job as an illustrator or concept artist.
