On Saturday, Sept. 28, Macaroni Kid Reading-Pottstown invites the entire community to come out and join in a fun-filled day to raise money for a great local non-profit organization, Children’s Home of Reading.

CHOR provides services to help children and families in crisis in Berks County and the surrounding communities. For more than 125 years, this organization has helped and continues to care for the needs of children and families by providing support and helping them prepare for success in life through residential programs, academic school programs, and community-based programs.

Macaroni Kid Reading-Pottstown supports their local community by providing a free weekly online newsletter containing a calendar of local events, recipes, local business spotlights, book reviews, giveaways, and more to help keep your family entertained. As a way to give-back to their local community, the Publishers of Macaroni Kid Reading-Pottstown are holding their 3rd Annual Picnic in the Park Community Fun Day on September 28, from 11:00am – 4:00pm at Jim Dietrich Park, 4899 Stoudts Ferry Bridge Road, Reading, Muhlenberg Township. All proceeds from the day will be benefitting CHOR.

At Picnic in the Park, you will find:

Live Entertainment – music and dancing demonstrations by local entertainers and dance studio, and special appearances by Red Robin and the Chick-Fil-A Cow!

Vendors & Crafters – more than 40 tables with information and items for sale ranging from food, house wares, children’s items, vacation planning, jewelry and more.

‘We have added some new activities and are working with wonderful local businesses to make this our best fundraising event yet,’ said Jennifer Schorr and Kimberly Vees, co-publishers of Macaroni Kid. ‘We are excited to hold the event in a bigger park this year than we have in the past, to offer more parking and more space for activities and vendors. We hope the day is very successful in helping to raise money for the Children’s Home of Reading.’
