GRACE P. FOLK
Grace P. (Sterner) Folk, 88, of Maxatawny Township, died Sept. 20, 2013 in Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenburg Campus, Bethlehem. She was the widow of William J. Folk, who died Dec. 5, 1991.
Born in Kutztown, she was a daughter of the late Peter S., and Gertrude E. (Reider) Sterner.
Mrs. Folk was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Kutztown, where she served as Chairlady of the kitchen and on the St. Paul’s Bazaar Committee.
She attended Kutztown Area High School.
She, along with her late husband Bill, owned and operated the former Three Mile House in Greenwich Township, for more than 20 years. Prior to that, she was employed by the former Fleetwood Shirt Factory and the former Wenton Shoe Company, Kutztown.
Mrs. Folk was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of Kutztown, Lyons, Shoemakersville and Virginville Fire Companies; a member and past president of Kutztown Lioness; and a member of the Kutztown Senior Citizens and Topton Seniors groups.
Survivors: Sons, Richard C., husband of Arlene (Smith) Folk, Lyon Station, Keith L., husband of Nancy (Nauss) Folk, Gilbertsville; sister, Norma J. (Sterner) Berger, Shoemakersville; grandchildren, Mark, Michael, Marlene, Melain and Martin. There are also14 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. She was predeceased by eight siblings; Chester A. Reider, Charles F. Sterner, William Sterner, Peter O. Sterner, Myrtle Boyer, Dorothy S. Rentschler, Gloria R. Balthaser, Gayle E. Christman.
Funeral services Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. from St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 47 S. Whiteoak St., Kutztown, with Reverend John W. Davies officiating. Interment follows in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown, Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church.

JACK H. UTT
Jack H. Utt, 72, of Kutztown, passed away in his residence on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013.
He was born in Kempton, a son of the late Clyde F. and Margaret L ( Henry) Utt.
He was employed as a tow motor operator for East Penn Mfg. of Lyons, for 28 years retiring in 2005. Prior to that he worked at the former Wenton Shoe Co., Kutztown, for 20 years.
Jack enjoyed helping his relatives on their farms throughout his retirement. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. He was of the protestant faith. He was a member of the Foglesville Fire Co; the Kutztown Rod and Gun Club; a social member of the Macungie Veterans Assn. and the Breinigsville V.F.W. Post 82, as well as holding memberships in various other organizations.
Survivors include a daughter Gail J. Utt at home; a son, Michael J. Utt of Slatington; 8 sisters: Darlene (Nevin) Young and Sharon (Terry) Stopp, both of Kutztown; Deanna Ehrets, Bonnie (Brian) Snyder and Donna (Dennis) Snyder, all of New Tripoli; Joyce (Thomas) Wentz of New Ringgold; Penny Brensinger of Topton, and Patti Snyder of Kempton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by siblings Pauletta J. Reichard and Ronald C. Utt.
Funeral services will be held on Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. in the Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway (Rt. 143), New Tripoli, with calling hours beginning at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Scott L. Shay officiating. RICHARD A. REMALEY
Richard A. “Richie” Remaley, 73, of Kutztown, formerly of Topton, died Sept. 19, 2013 in Kutztown Manor, Inc., where he was a resident for five years.
Born in Topton, he was a son of the late Norman M., and Anna M. (Fisher) Remaley.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton.
Survivors: Sister, Barbara L. (Remaley), wife of Carl D. DeTurk, Topton; brother, David B., husband of Shirley M. (Deisher) Remaley, Kutztown; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Audrey A. (Remaley) Cook, who died Sept. 10, 2007.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family with Reverend Arthur L. Hahn officiating. Interment in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. There are no calling hours.

CAROL L. HOUCK
Carol L. Houck, 69, of Fleetwood, passed away Sept. 19, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
The wife of Daniel D. Houck, they celebrated 50 years of marriage in June.
Born on Sept. 9, 1944 in Reading, she was the daughter of Anna M. (Kline) Emerich of Walnuttown and the late Theodore L. Emerich.
Carol loved to play bingo, going to casinos and watching the Phillies.
Survived by her husband Daniel and two daughters Jackie A. (Houck) Keller of Exeter Township and Kathie A. (Houck) Weber of Virginia Beach, Va. Also surviving are four grandchildren Casey Keller, Jeremy Pfleger, Josh Pfleger and Andrew Weber; and one great grandson Hayden Pfleger. Other survivors include a sister Tracey (Emerich) Allebach of Blandon and seven brothers Lynn Emerich of Bernville, Larry Emerich of Temple, Bruce Emerich of Nunica, Michigan, Robert Emerich of Fleetwood, Steve Emerich of Temple, Terry Emerich of Newark, Delaware and Donald Emerich of Fleetwood.
Carol was preceded in death by her brother Delbert Emerich and sister Fay (Emerich) Engleman.

JOAN R. HOLLENBACH
Joan R. Hollenbach, 92, formerly of Kutztown, died Sept. 23 in the Lehigh Center, Macungie.
She was the widow of Warren P. Hollenbach who died in 1968.
Joan was born in Allentown a daughter of the late Harry H. and Mamie L. (Brobst) Rickert.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kutztown and was employed as a secretary in the Math Department at Kutztown University for many years until retiring.
She is survived by two daughters; Rebecca J. wife of Terry McFadden ,Allentown, Susan J. Fox and companion Kurt Graybill, Allentown; Three grandsons, Craig A. Keller, Jack R. Keller, Mark D. Keller; six great grandchildren Logan G. Keller, Caleb C. Keller, Makaila Keller,Lanni Segar, Brynn Keller, Madilyn Keller.
Graveside services Friday at 11 a.m. in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown with Rev. Keith R. Rohrbach officiating. No viewing.
