Salem EC Church, Lenhartsville, held its 5th annual Pig Roast and Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 21.
With activities for all ages, the car show featured cars of all kinds as well as a farm tractor display. Awards were given for people’s choice for first, second and third.
Along with the meal there was the popular ‘Guess the Weight of the Pig’ contest during which attendees had the chance to guess the combined weight of 16 pigs. For children there was the ‘Pig’s Pen’ where they had the chance to enter the coloring contest with the winner going home with a giant pig stuff animal. There was also a ‘Tough the Truck’ exhibit in the rear parking lot.
While the children enjoyed their activities, adults had the opportunity to browse the cars and tractors as well as the silent auction items.
After enjoying the meal, there were a number of desserts to choose from and Candy’s Homemade Ice Cream had a tuck out by the car show for those looking for a cooler treat.
The Keystone Miller Bloodmobile was there for people to be able to hop in and give blood.
Once judging was over during the show and the winners announced, many of the car show participants put on another show as they revved along Old Route 22 in front of the church on their way home.
