On Saturday, Oct. 5, beginning at 7 p.m. at Kutztown Area High School, 18 senior girls will compete for the title of Berks County’s Outstanding Young Woman. During the program, each girl will compete for $10,200 in cash scholarships in the following areas: Judge’s Interview (20%), Scholastic Achievement (20%), Aerobics and Fitness (20%), Performing Arts (20%), and Presence and Presentation (20%).
In addition to scholarships being awarded in the five categories, scholarships will be awarded to the third runner up, second runner up and The Keystone Award and the Title Winner.
From Hamburg Area High School is Stephanie Waldron, 17, of Tilden, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Waldron. She will be doing a dance performance for the performing arts solo.
From Schuylkill Valley High School is Virginia Paino, 17, of Bern Township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Paino. She will be doing a vocal performance for the performing arts solo.
From Tulpehocken Area High School is Kali Wentling, 17, of Tulpehocken, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Wentling.
