York College freshman goaltender Stevi Lukacz, a Schuylkill Valley High School grad, earned the Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Defender of the Week as announced by the conference office last week.
Lukacz began the week with a spot start for the Spartans as she played all 90 minutes with a career-high eight saves in the 1-0 non-conference loss to Catholic.
She followed that with 75:10 of scoreless relief as she earned the win in the Spartans’ 2-1 victory over Salisbury on Saturday. In the win over the Sea Gulls, Lukacz recorded six saves in relief of starter Melanie Glessner (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) who was injured in the 15th minute of the game.
She finished the week with a .933 save percentage and a 0.54 goals against average in 165:10 of work.
