Mama’s Delight Pizza Restaurant’s owners hosted a fall celebration for their 30th Anniversary in Kutztown.
“It was great,” co-owner MariaDiMaggio told The Patriot. “All those who have been supporting us all those years were here to celebrate with us, and I loved that because it was a family event.”
To celebrate the pizza shop’s anniversary,in attendance was Mayor Sandy Green, members of the Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce, community members, Kutztown University students, friends, family and customers.
Held on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 2 to 6 p.m., the celebration opened with a 2 p.m. ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Sandy Green and members of the Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce. There was a moonbounce, face painting, children’s games, spin the wheel for prizes, free small samples of food, 30-year anniversary gift for anyone coming, tables with chairs for people to sit, balloons for kids, and KURadio providing live music and broadcast. The road on Main and South Whiteoak was closed to accommodate the event.
“We’ve been here for 30 years. We know we make good food because we use only quality ingredients,” said Di Maggio, crediting the quality ingredients for their 30 years of business, as well as “working hard and making sure the customers are happy and satisfied.”
Di Maggio thanked everyone in the community for all those years of support and patronage.
Serving Kutztown since 1983, Mamma’s Delight staff believe their pizza creations are a work of art, using fresh dough and sauces are made daily, capturing the true Italian taste. Mamma’s also serves chicken wings, sandwiches on homemade bread, salads, lasagna, calzones and stromboli.
Natives of Italy, owners Vince and Maria arrived in Kutztown and raised a family while running Mamma’s for 30 years. Involved in the community, Maria and Vinny can often be seen at local events, such as Muscle on Main in the summer and tree lightings at Christmas time.
