A team of concerned Customers Bank employees lent their enthusiasm and their feet to demonstrate support for a worthy cause as they helped the Women’s Center of Montgomery County raise more than $25,000 during the organization’s recent 5K Run/3K Walk event held at the Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell.
The Customers Bank team was led by Jonathan Klass, Commercial Relationship Manager and Vice President in Customers Bank’s Newtown, Bucks County, office. Klass also has been a member of the Board of Directors at the Women’s Center of Montgomery County for the past year and a half.
‘The Women’s Center is a very impressive organization that operates on a shoestring budget and provides an array of services to help people in situations that too often go overlooked,’ said Klass. ‘So whatever we can do to help raise funds to support their mission is very much appreciated.’
The Women’s Center of Montgomery County is a volunteer, community organization with a primary focus on freedom from domestic violence and other forms of abuse. It offers an array of programs, such as domestic violence support services and counseling groups, medical advocacy, and community education initiatives that are designed to help empower women who may be affected by the threat of domestic violence and other often related conditions.
‘We welcomed this opportunity to do something that contributes not only to supporting women and families in need, but should also have a positive ripple effect throughout the community,’ said Richard Ehst, President and Chef Operating Officer for Customers Bank.
