The Boyertown Area High School boys’ soccer team had a win and a tie last week. The Bears are 8-1-1 in the PAC-10 and 11-2-1 overall.
The Bears began the week with a 1-1 tie with Owen J. Roberts. Barry Kabinoff scored Boyertown’s lone goal of the match, as each team had eight shots on goal. Tim Lawlor made five saves in goal for the Bears.
On Oct. 4, the Bears defeated Plymouth-Whitemarsh in a non-league game, 2-1. Tyler Snyder and Danny Yudt were the goal scorers for the Bears who outshot Plymouth-Whitemarsh, 11-9, Lawlor and Frank Agliano shard time in goal for Boyertown.

The Lady Bears began the week with a 2-0 victory over Perkiomen Valley. Kasey Sheahan and Jillian Bertino were the goal scorers for Boyertown, while Emily Diehl and Taylor Sassaman were each credited with an assist.
Boyertown outshot Perk Valley, 14-7, as Sarafina Valenti made seven saves in goal for the Bears to record the shutout.
On Oct. 10, the Lady Bears closed out the regular season with a 3-1 victory over Methacton.
Emily and Morgan Diehl each scored a goal for Boyertown, as did Olivia Frazier. Maria Garofolo had an assist.
Boyertown outshot Methacton, 10-3, as Valenti made two saves in goal.
The Boyertown Area High School field hockey team closed out the season with a pair of losses. The Lady Bears finished the PAC-10 season at 5-8.They are 6-10 overall.
On Oct. 8, Boyertown suffered a 4-1 loss to Perkiomen Valley.
On Oct. 10, the Lady Bears lost to Methacton, 6-3. Gabby Binando had a pair of goals for Boyertown, while Maddy Saejk scored the other goal. Abby Jaeger was credited with an assist.
Emily Schlichter made four saves in goal for Boyertown.
BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY
The Boyertown Area High School boys’ cross country team finished the PAC-10 season at 5-5 after defeating Spring-Ford, 25-30, on Oct. 9.
Finishing in the top 12 for Boyertown were: Dylan Eddinger, second; John Bennett, fourth; Dalton Meredith, sixth; Lance Kokonos, eighth; Bryton Henry, 10th; and Dylan Weiser, 12th.
GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY
The Boyertown Area High School girls’ cross country team finished the PAC-10 season at 7-3 after defeating Spring-Ford, 19-36, on Oct. 9.
Finishing in the top 12 for Boyertown were: Gillian Kasitz, first; Emily Schumaker, second; Laura Simpson, fourth; Hailey Cleveland, fifth; Michelle Seymour, seventh; and Renee Schumaker, 12th.
The Oley Valley High School boys’ soccer team completed the Berks League regular season with two wins and a loss last week. The Lynx qualified for the league playoffs by finishing second in Division 3 with a record of 8-1-1.
On Oct, the Lynx were defeated in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs, 1-0 by Wyomissing.
Each team had four shots in the match, as Ryan Krall made three saves in goal for Oley Valley.
On Oct 8, the Lynx defeated Tulpehocken, 3-0. Ben Kerkeslager, Austin Swoyer and Alex Schlegel were the Oley goal scorers in the match, while Greg Whitehouse and Zach Russo were each credited with an assist.
Oley outshot Tulpehocken, 7-5, as Krall made all five saves in goal.
In a non-league match, the Lynx defeated Ephrata, 2-1. Swoyer and Sabatian Williamson were the Oley goal scorers. Russo earned an assist.

After losing 4-0 to Tulpehocken, the Lady Lynx closed out the season with a 3-0 victory over Brandywine Heights. Kailee Kramer led the Oley offense with a pair of goals in the contest, while Amanda Aulenbach scored the other Lynx tally. Shelby Neiman was credited with a pair of assists.
Oley outshot Brandywine, 8-2, as Allen and Amanda Rizzuti shared time in goal for the Lynx.
The Oley Valley High School field hockey team completed the regular Berks League season with a trio of victories. The Lady Lynx won Division 3 of the Berks League with a perfect 8-0 record. They went on to win their quarterfinal round battle with Conrad Weiser on Oct. 12, 3-0.
Jamie Fries, Megan Kida and Skyler Fretz were the Oley Valley goal scorers, while Thalia Williamson had two assists and Fretz had one assist.
Oley Valley outshot the Scouts, 6-4, as Shannon Yoder made all four saves in goal for the winners.
The Lady Lynx began the week with a 4-0 victory over Tulpehocken. Erin Gillingham and Fretz each had a pair of goals for Oley, while Carly Kauffman and Elaine Ritschard each had one assist.
Oley dominated the game outshooting the Trojans, 15-1.
On Oct. 9, Oley Valley blanked Brandywine Heights, 3-0. Fretz, Gillingham and Megan Kida were the goal scorers for the locals, while Williamson had two assists and Fries had one assist.
The Oley Valley High School girls volleyball team lost three Berks League matches last week, and fell to 2-10.
The Lady Lynx began the week with a non-league loss over Elco, 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-13).
Danielle Cole four kills and 10 digs for the Lynx, while Ashley Selig six digs, four aces and eight assists.
On Oct. 8, the Lynx lost to Brandywine Heights, 3-0 (25-14, 25-9, 25-10).
Ashley Selig had 10 digs, five assists and three aces for Oley, while Paige Sonon added one kills and nine digs.
The Lynx ended the week with a loss to Fleetwood, 3-0 (25-13, 25-6, 25-9).
Soonon had eight digs and Kaleigh Pelko had three kills and one block.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
The Oley Valley High School boys cross country team dropped two of three in a quad meet on Oct. 8 to end the Berks League season at 4-3. The Lynx defeated Tulpehocken, 26-29; but lost to Wyomissing, 17-40; and Twin Valley, 15-49.
David Maloney led the Lynx with an 11th place finish.
