The Berks County Association for the Blind will host its second annual Harvest Fest on Saturday, October 19 from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. on the Association’s grounds at 2020 Hampden Boulevard in Reading.
The festival features games for all ages, music and food. There will be face painting and pumpkin decorating along with vision screenings and tours of BCAB’s facility.
A blind awareness obstacle course will be available. Berks County Lions clubs will collect eye glasses. Miller-Keystone Blood Center will conduct a blood drive.
New this year is the 5K Run/Walk for Sight beginning at 9 a.m., with registration open at 8 a.m. A one mile kids run will start at 9:45 a.m. Information and registration forms are on BCAB’s web site, www.berksblind.org.
BCAB offers vision screenings, counseling services, and support groups to blind and visually impaired individuals in Berks County. BCAB also provides educational programs, socialization/recreation programs, and information and referral services. A workshop provides employment for thirty to fifty people who are blind, visually impaired, or challenged.
