Tradition! Creativity! Know-How! Twin Valleys Garden Club brings these Chester County qualities together at every annual Flower Show, and this year’s show with the theme ‘Let’s Dance’ was no exception. A beautifully restored barn in Phoenixville was transformed into a floral showcase as members presented their interpretations of ‘Unforgettable’ and ‘Twist and Shout’ through artistic arrangements.

Eva-Maria Frank of Chester Springs captured the Club’s Sweepstakes award with her table arrangement ‘Dancing Through Life’ and other eye-popping exhibits. Pat McCarter of Newtown Square successfully nurtured the club’s 2013 Challenge Class Plant, a Euphorbia x martinii ‘Ascot Rainbow’ to take top honors in the Horticulture Division.

Club members, all local gardeners, hold monthly programs and workshops on topics as diverse as native plant butterfly and bird hosts, Victory Gardens past and future, and what to plant in a night garden. This year marks the club’s 86th anniversary of gardening in Chester County.

Upcoming fall speakers include a Garden Club of America exhibit judge in October sharing insider tips for taking floral arrangements to new levels, and in November a Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture hardwoods specialist to address the make-up and health of our forests.
