The community was invited to get their ‘pick’ on last week.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, Frecon Farms held their annual PICKFEST, intiving the public onto their orchard fields to celebrate their fall harvest. The celebration encouraged the drinking of apples, picking apples, and listerning to others pick away on string instruments.

This 7th Annual event featured performances by 8 of the region’s best bluegrass bands, pick your own fruit, Frecon’s hard cider and local wine garden, hay rides and family activities.

The event attracts approximately 1,500 people throughout the Mid Atlantic, according to a release from Frecon Farms.

The features bands included The Stray Birds, The Manatawny Creek Ramblers, Hogmaw & Ataloft, Michael Ronstadt & Matthew Gordon, Uncle Jake & The 18 Wheel Gang, and East Side Dave Kline & the Mt. Folk Duo! F.

Parking for the event was held off-site at the Boyertown High School, with shuttles running throughout the day.

The event was sponsered by Frecon’s Cidery, Frecon Farms, Frecon’s Cidery, Bode Borneman Insurance, Everything Printing, Diamond Disposal and Whitehouse Landscaping.
