The child formed a bond with his therapist, eventually relating he thought he was the reason for the divorce. Trained in play therapy, the counselor helped the child tell his parents how he felt; in turn, the parents accepted his feelings and helped him to understand he wasn’t the cause. Soon, he began playing with friends again, gradually becoming more social.
