Wooden Bridge Dry Goods is located on a dairy farm at 195 Deysher Rd., Kutztown. As you wind your way between meadows where cows and horses graze, the end of the drive is like the port of gold at the end of a quilter’s rainbow.
Along with more than 10,000 bolts of fabric, Anna Mae Martin, along with co-owner husband Paul, sells numerous items such as threads, buttons, patterns, books, laces, zippers, mats, rulers, needles, stencils, pillow forms, a little bit of everything in the sewing world.
Classes on quilting and sewing are also offered on all levels of experience. Quilting and sewing are very rewarding. It gives you a satisfied feeling when you see the finished product.
Customers from New Jersey, who happened to be at the store at the time of this interview, said they love the selection and the prices are wonderful.
Opened in 1999, Wooden Bridge will celebrate its 15th anniversary in May 2014.
