Schuylkill Valley boys cross country team sixth at championship race

With a sixth place finish, the Schuylkill Valley High School boys’ cross country team led the local contingents at the Berks County Cross Country Championship Run held at Kutztown University on Oct. 16.

The Panther boys finished sixth with 154 team points, while Hamburg took 15th place with 424 team points. Tulpehocken finished in 11th place with 288 team points.

On the girls’ side, Hamburg was tied with Kutztown for 10th place with 296 team points, while Schuylkill Valley was tied for 12th place with Conrad Weiser with 313 points.

Clay Stabolepszy led the local runners with a seventh place individual finish in the boys’ race. The Schuylkill Valley Jr. finished with a time of 17:07.

Other finishers for the Panthers included: Glen Heck, 14th (17:28); Jacob Waltz, 24th (17:51); Chris Yeshulas, 34th (18:13); Reese Salen, 75th (19:28); Kevin Cook, 94th (20:40); and Zachary Spatz, 96th (20:46).F

Finishing for Tulehocken were: Nick Sokolovich, 22nd (17:48); Mason Klopp, 26th (17:52); Jacob Hare, 68th (19:17; Tanner Schalter, 84th (19:49); James Lafollette, 88th (20:02); Christian Miles, 105th (21:33); and Sam Boyer, 108th (21:43).

Finishers for Hamburg included: Kerry Mega, 46th, 18:39; Alex Moquin, 85th (19:50); Logan Dougherty, 95th (20:45); Kyle Hill-Strackbein, 97th (20:46); Brett Schlappich, 101st (21:12); Sam Moseman, 106th (21:34; Joel Dierwechter, 107th (21:34).

Finishing for the Hamburg girls team were: Karlie Heistand, seventh (19:47); Jenna Kauffman, 46th (22:28); Brandi Boyer, 66th (23:41); Karli Phillips, 77th (24:29); Shelby Levan, 100th (27.52).

Finishers for Hamburg included: Hannah Beatty, 21st (20:39); Rachael Borden, 54th (22:53); Shyanne Salen, 76th (24:27); Jacqueline Marusiak, 80th (24:53); James Shianne, 82nd (24:53); Isabella Ciervo, 85th (25:01); and Nicole Frank, 96th (26:38).
